CITCS joins “Showtime”

CITCS joins “Showtime”

Last January 20 of this year, the juniors and some BSIT seniors had one of the most exciting educational trips. Their first itinerary was the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) where they learned a lot about weather forecasting and how various calamities occur due to changes in the weather. This was followed but the ABS-CBN studio tour and their memorable participation in “Showtime” where they joined the crowd in their dance craze and breathtaking parts of the show. A lot of the students were able to meet and interact with their favorite artists such as Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Vice Ganda, Kuya Kim, some news anchors like Doris Bigornia and the casts of “LUV U”, a Philippine TV teen comedy series. Some of them even had the chance to be on stage with these personalities.

On a different note, technology and innovation is very useful, dynamic and it makes everything quick and easy. It feels good how CITCS students demonstrate their eagerness to learn and discover different breakthroughs to all CITCS students to participate in the Youth for Information Technology Congress also knows as the Y4IT which was organized by the UP System, UP Information Technology Training Center, and UP System Information Technology Foundation, Inc. This year’s seminar was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City last September 17-19, 2013, with the theme, “Imagine, Innovate, and Inspire”. Just like other seminars , conferences and fora, Y4IT 2013 focused mainly on the recent trends in IT.

Moreover, a series of seminars were participated by them during the first quarter of this year such as Batangas Information Technology Students’ Technopreneurship Summit organized by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, and the 2nd E-Globio Seminar Series. Leading IT personalities, top corporate executives and technopreneurs, distinguished academic professors and researchers, and policy makers whose interaction and decisions shape the future of the Philippine ICT, were the speakers who shared their views in their respective fields of expertise. All of those were nationwide events, which provided a venue for discovering and evaluating the new technologies of the century. They gave the students new knowledge about the advancements in technology with their success stories and real life experiences which could be used on their future endeavors.
